 Philosophy of Giving

& Supporting the Community

During the Pandemic

Presented by

Will Prather, Executive Producer

Prather Productions

As the owner of two dinner theatres, including Broadway Palm in Fort Myers, the Prather family found itself at the center of the storm last year when COVID-19 effectively closed the entertainment industry. As longtime supporters of the hospitality industry, they quickly pivoted to using their kitchen to produce meals for displaced workers rather than see their food go to waste. Will Prather will share his family’s story of managing through the pandemic storm, supporting their community, and his philosophy on giving.

Will Prather was born in Harrisburg, PA. He is a 1991 graduate of the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell University where he was active in Hotel Ezra Cornell, a

student-operated hotel. Upon graduation he spent a year working as a restaurant manager for the Harvey Hotel Company in Dallas, Texas.

Will is the Executive Producer and Owner of Prather Productions. He currently operates Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre in Fort Myers, the Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre in Lancaster, PA; along with Prather Touring and Apex Touring which are national touring companies that bring productions around the country and across the world. Prather Touring is currently producing The Wizard of Oz and Apex Touring was recently on the road with Cabaret. The entire company entertains a half a million guests each year and employs over 300 people.

He is past-president of the Lee County Alliance for the Arts and is a member of the Fort Myers Rotary Club. He is a Senior Advisor for The SW FL Community Foundation, member of the Advisory Board of FGCU’s Hospitality/Resort Management Program and is an Advisory Board Member for the Lee

County Alliance for the Arts. He is past secretary of the National Dinner Theatre Association, which consists of more than 20 dinner theatres across the country. Will’s impressive community involvement illustrates his strong commitment to Southwest Florida. He constantly strives to increase public awareness about the arts and tourism in the region. Will is a proud father of his son TJ. When not working or volunteering, he’s spending time

on the waters of Southwest Florida kayaking, fishing and occasionally enjoys a rounds of golf.

Future meetings of the Planned Giving Council will be virtual until the community and Federal and State Governments feel it safe to meet together. We hope that you, your families and friends stay well during this trying time.
