“What? We can’t talk about THAT! Or can we?”

Your work as a non-profit professional is focused on your organization’s mission. That mission lives on a continuum of societal change or care. But what if some folks just don’t believe in your mission? How do you approach conflicts in beliefs or methodologies? And is your organization really stretching to its fullest potential, even if it means taking a new and daring position? This program will answer these questions and focus on what you can do as professional to build bridges and advocate for your clients, even in the midst of these polarizing times.

Arlene Feddo is a consultant and speaker, with a focus on the nonprofit sector in the areas of governance, leadership, staffing, and fundraising. She also works with corporate and individual funders in determining strategies for impactful philanthropy.

She has a 25-year career of working with nonprofits in various leadership and fundraising roles including: the American Red Cross (Lee County), the University of Georgia (Cooperative Extension Service/4-H Foundation), Florida Southwestern State College, the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, and most recently as the Vice President of Philanthropy for Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, where she served on the executive leadership team and managed a staff of 11 fundraisers in 22 counties.

She earned a masters degree in Non-Profit Management from the University of Georgia and an undergraduate degree in Communications. She is a founding member and Vice-Chair of Progressive Women of Southwest Florida and former board member of the Planned Giving Council of Lee County.
